Voice testing yeah!
Half-Blood Prince
Draco can't believe that he'd gotten another detention. Sure, he'd missed a few assignments, but there are more important things in his life! He needs to be more careful, though, because the detention wound up eating into more of his time than the assignments would have and now he's behind.
He trudges through the halls away from the transfiguration classroom lost in his thoughts. That cabinet is no closer to fixed than it had been in the first place and time's ticking away. The Dark Lord is counting on him.
Post-Deathly Hallows
Draco steps through the streets of Diagon Alley with his chin held high. Some of his interactions are still tense and there are at least a few stores he knows he should just avoid, but lately he's been looking for excuses to leave the Manor. He's attended a few social functions with his parents, of course, but leaving one lonely room for another isn't much help.
He's not sure exactly what he'd expected his life to be like after the fall of the Dark Lord, but for some reason he hadn't realized that it would be worse than before. Things had been simpler when he'd been younger. Now, he wonders about a lot of things he never would have before. He wonders about a lot of his decisions and quite a few of the decisions his parents had made, but he's not going to let that show.
Instead, he carries on as if there's nothing out of the ordinary about Draco Malfoy out on a stroll to buy a few books. He belongs here now just as much as he had before. It's only been a few months now, but maybe in a few more he'll actually believe that.
WILDCARD!
(hit me with something else or I can write a more specific prompt)

Half-Blood Prince [this is totally an AU where Artemis has always been in HP]
"I know I'm said to resemble a vampire, but I believe you require a trip outdoors sooner than I."

"I'm hardly the one skulking around by myself with a book, Fowl." He flicked the cover.

Unless the right price was offered. His personal fortunate well covered it, and then some.
"And what would be so important that you find yourself uninterested in the reputation of the House? Considering you've spent the rest of our mutual time here upholding, or perhaps that should be living it down." His eyes barely flickered as he glanced in Draco's direction.
"You give the impression that this is far beyond you now." It was a statement, not a question. Artemis Fowl did not question.
no subject
"It's none of your concern." He crossed his arms and realized that he would feel a lot more secure with some backup right now. How had Crabbe and Goyle managed to get the assignment done when he hadn't, anyway?

"However, if this little venture your own continues to cause your behaviour to be as... Let us say erratic as it has been? It won't just be the Slytherins noticing. Then again, perhaps you have noticed the vested interest Potter has been taking in you."
It was not that Artemis Fowl would ever call Draco Malfoy a friend. No, there was no love lost between them in that regard. But he did so despair of people being very obvious in their actions, and Potter was a loudspeaker when he was suspicious of a person. It was rather annoying, all things considered.
