[It’s easy to fall asleep with Steve, easy to let his eyes close and revel in the comfort of holding and being held, of fitting together in Bucky’s bed, of lazily petting and nuzzling into warm skin. Bucky relaxes — truly relaxes — and lets himself drift, falling into a dreamless doze that’s more restful than any sleep he’s had in a while.
It’s all because Steve’s here with him, his brain recognizing that on a level that bypasses conscious thought and simply urges him to press close and stay there, to curl against Steve and refuse to let go. There’s plenty of bed for them to share but they’re taking only a fraction of it, too content to stay close to even consider movement.
Of course his body is still very much conscious of being curled around Steve, of the way they tangle together, of the miles of naked skin against his own. And his body is still very much interested in learning how they fit together, such that interest is blooming even before he’s fully awake yet, shifting against Steve with small motions. What that means is that when he does finally rouse himself to awareness is that he’s hard already, grinding against his partner’s thigh.
And Bucky? He’s willing to roll with it, peering up at Steve’s face to see how he feels about the situation.]
