leverages: (a bit superfluous really)

It isn't often that Captain Jack Sparrow goes out of his way to make a social call, certainly not one with so little profit in it for himself, but he supposes that just this once he might actually owe it to them. Will Turner and the future missus, that is. They did, after all, risk everything they had to save him from the noose, and somehow managed to hold off that bloodhound of a commodore Norrington long enough for him and the Pearl to make a clean escape (though with the loss of his Interceptor, it is not as though they have any craft as can catch his ship). And he has to admit a certain sense of amusement (and, perhaps, a fondness as well) at their tenacity, their invitation actually finding him in a timely fashion. So it is that he is risking his neck again to return to Port Royale.

In fact, the wedding of Elizabeth and Will is still some months off, and Jack isn't entirely certain it's in his best interests to sneak in an appearance for it; no doubt certain Royal Navy officers will be on high alert for his arrival. But it doesn't hurt to check things out ahead of time, just in case he decides to show up anyway, and at the very least he can visit the couple after and wish them well afterward.

Crouching low on the church rooftop, he glances in the direction of the docks, where there is still quite a stir of commotion about. He hasn't exactly been subtle, walking about the streets as nonchalant as you please, not even attempting to disguise himself. Of course, it was all part of his plan to start a ruckus down there so he might slip away and head on over to the church, where he can only presume Will and Elizabeth will wed. No one could possibly suspect his true intentions, after all, and with them all busy there, no one was around to spot him here-

-save for the man who has just run out of the church. Jack spots him from above, considering his next course of action. Certainly he does not expect any soldier to be up this way just yet, so the only one who might see him now is the priest, should he but turn around. However, it is not his intention to remain up here forever, but rather to venture inside the building, which is likely now empty. The man doesn't appear dangerous, nor are there a surprise arsenal of swords on his person (at least, he certainly hopes not, what would the odds be on that?) If he can just drop quietly down from the roof and slip soundlessly inside the church, he should be safe.

Like a cat, Jack creeps forward to the edge of the building, dropping over the edge and landing on the ground with a soft thud. Quickly he regains his footing and slips past the ajar door, but not without his coat snagging on the edge and pulling it along with a loud creaking noise. He winces, pressing himself against the wall, and waits to see if he's been discovered.
